Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick in 'Bulletproof Biege'

Rimmel have brought some cracking products out over the past year or so; one of my favourite high street collections has to be Rimmel 'Scandaleyes'. I've got their Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliners in two shades which I absolutely love, so it made sense to try something else from the Scandaleyes collection. I decided on one of their eyeshadow sticks in 'Bulletproof Beige' because it looked like the kind of shade that I'd get quite a lot of use out of and the crayon style applicator isn't something I've ever tried in eye products, I generally tend to stick with brush application.

The first thing I'm going to say about this is do not be fooled by the photos shown online, both on sites like Boots and also the Rimmel website. This is a lot more gold toned than they show it to be, I wouldn't call it 'biege' because it's a lot more yellow toned than I expect beige to be; I expect beige to be more pink toned. Nevertheless I still bought this because it was the lightest of the shades available. I tend to wear a lot of neutral shades on my eyes, because I feel that they suit me the best so I figured that this could work well as a base colour instead of using a primer.

. To be totally honest I'm not struck on this at all, when applying it really dragged my eyelid which isn't pleasant and didn't make for a very smooth application meaning that it looked like a cheap cream eyeshadow. I know you're probably thinking 'well it is a cheap cream eyeshadow' but I really do expect better from Rimmel; I expect an eyeshadow stick to be creamy and easy to apply but this is quite the opposite, you can just tell it's high street. Having said that, I do think this would be good for precision application but it's just not good for an all over colour.

I'm not going to give up on Rimmel Scandaleyes products, I do want to try the shadow paint because it looks much easier to apply; I saw Nic Haste from Pixiwoo applying it for her Katy Perry 'Who You Love' tutorial and it looked really nice!

What are your favourite Scandaleyes products?

  1. This looks gorgeous, and much more expensive! I love the nude scandalise eyeliner, it's perfect for brightening up the eyes! Lovely blog :) xx

  2. I've never tried an eye shadow crayon before because I've always assumed they might drag on the skin and as I have loads of excess skin in my eyelids I don't think this would make for a very good look at all. It looks a lovely colour so it's a shame you're not keen on it x
